Vancouver, BC - Wake Forest freshman Mandy McBean has qualified for the Canadian World Junior Cross Country Team. McBean earned a spot on the team after placing sixth in the 2005 Canadian Cross Country Championships 5,000 meter race with a time of 17:51.

McBean will compete for the Canadian team at the World Junior Cross Country Championships, which will be held in Japan in April, 2006.

Demon Deacon assistant coach Matt Kerr also competed in the Canadian Cross Country Championships in the 10,000 meter Senior Men's flight. Kerr also placed sixth in the race finishing with a time of 30:44.
