Winston-Salem, N.C. - The 21st-ranked Wake Forest women's cross country team has earned a berth to the NCAA Championship. The Demon Deacons will race in Terre Haute, Ind., on Nov. 21 at 12:15 central time.

Wake Forest is coming off of a fourth place showing at the NCAA Southeast Regionals. The Demon Deacons have already run once on the course this year, placing fifth at the NCAA Pre-Nationals Meet. Senior Annie Bersagel placed second overall to pace the Deacons.

The bid marks the fourth in a row for the women's team. In 2002, the Deacons captured the Southeast Regional and finished ninth overall in the championship meet. The next year, Wake Forest placed 21st, and last season the Deacons finished in 19th.
