WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest cross country will conclude its regular season on Friday, Nov. 6, at Virginia Tech's Hokie Open in Blacksburg, Va. The women are scheduled to toe the line at 4 p.m. for the 4-kilometer race. The men's 6K will begin at 4:30 p.m.

The Demon Deacons running in the women's race will be: junior Cate Berenato, freshman Allison Homer, senior Kelly Laffey, junior Cristina Richard and sophomore Katy Swain.

Freshman Will Ficklen will be the sole Wake Forest male in the men's meet.

The meet will be held at the Virginia Tech Home Cross Country Course, which is an all-grass course located on Virginia Tech's campus behind the indoor/outdoor track and the Vet-Med School. Along with Wake Forest and Virginia, the schools racing in the Hokie Open include Radford and Maryville College.

Next weekend, the cross country teams travel to Louisville, Ky., for the 2009 NCAA Southeast Regionals. The men's 10K will start at 10 a.m., followed by the women's 6K at 11:15 a.m. at E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park. Currently, the women's team is ranked 11th in the region.
