WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - While 18 runners travel to Bethlehem, Pa., to participate in the Paul Short Run, another group of Demon Deacons will compete in the Hagan Stone Park Classic on Saturday morning in Greensboro, N.C. The all-day event kicks off at 9:30 a.m. with the collegiate men's 8-kilometer run. The women's 5K begins at 10:15 a.m.

The Hagan Stone Park Classic will feature eight races, with middle school through university-level harriers competing. A total of 1,800 runners are expected at this event, and 12 collegiate teams are slated to compete including ACC-rival Duke in the women's race.

Running for the Wake Forest women's team on Saturday will be Molly Binder, Kristen Buchan, Ellen Huber, Kelly Laffey, Kelly Polisin, Cristina Richard and Katy Swain.

Will Ficklen, Jake Graham and Austin Jones will race for the men's team.

Hagan Stone Park's entirely grass course opened in 1984 and has since hosted a multitude of events, including 25 Greensboro Invitationals. The course record holder is Alan Webb, who shattered the previous mark with a 14:36 time in the 2000 Hagan Stone Park Classic.
