GREENSBORO, N.C. - Wake Forest cross country runner Michelle Sikes was named the ACC Performer of the Week after a second-place finish at the Bill Dellinger Invitational this past weekend. The honor is the second for the senior this season.

Sikes placed second at the national meet after finishing the 6K race in a time of 20:11.3, the fastest 6K time recorded on the women's side in the ACC this season. The Demon Deacons placed third in the team contest out of 11 competing schools, finishing ahead of five higher ranked schools.

The senior from Lakewood, Ohio was named the ACC Performer of the Week earlier in the year after a second-place finish at the Lou Onesty Invitational, hosted by the University of Virginia.

The Demon Deacons next outing will be at the Pre-NCAA Invitational in Terre Haute, Ind. on Oct. 14.
