WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Demon Deacon cross country teams will be back in action this Saturday, Sept. 30. The men's team will be competing in the Greensboro Invitational in Greensboro, N.C. The women's squad, who is receiving votes in this week's polls, will send some to Greensboro and some to the Iona Championships in Bronx, N.Y.

Wake Forest is coming off an impressive weekend in St. Paul, Minn., last weekend. The Demon Deacon men's team finished 10th in the 31-team field at the Roy Griak Invitational. The Deacs finished ahead of three ranked teams. Ted DeVos, a junior from Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.,led Wake Forest, placing 32nd with a time of 25:06 in the 8,000-meter run.

Placing 10th in the 29-team field at the Roy Griak Invitational, the Wake Forest women's team finished ahead of No. 24 Missouri. Sara Day led the Deacs, taking fourth place with a time of 21:18 in the 6,000-meter women's race. Day a senior from Winston-Salem, N.C., has finished in the top four of both races that she has competed in this year.
