Wake Forest Harriers Finish Among Top-15 At Pre-NCAA Meet

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The Wake Forest men's cross country team finished 14th, while the women's team finished 15th in the Pre-NCAA Meet held at Furman University in Greenville, SC on Saturday morning.

Stanford claimed both the men's and women's team titles. Individually, freshman Julia Stamps of Stanford won the women's title with a time of 16:44, while Colorado junior Adam Goucher won the men's with a time of 24:00.

Leading the way for the Wake Forest women's team was sophomore Janelle Kraus. Kraus finished 14th with a time of 17:37. The next best finish came from junior Amy Wallace who placed 60th with a time of 18:23.

Senior Nolan Swanson was the top finisher for the Wake Forest men's team. He finished 35th with a time of 25:30. Stephen Pro was the next best Wake runner with a time of 25:38 and a 48th place finish.

Both teams will be in action again next weekend at the North Carolina Intecollegiate in Charlotte.
