Terre Haute, Ind. - The Wake Forest women's cross country team placed 17th out of 31 teams at the NCAA Championship on Monday.  The Demon Deacons finished with 426 points in the 6,000 meter race.

 

Stanford claimed the team title with 146 points.  Colorado placed second with 181 points.  Duke placed third with 185 points, Arizona State fourth with 191 points and Illinois rounded out the top-five with 212 points.

 

Senior All-American Annie Bersagel placed 13th overall running a time of 20:14 for the Deacons.  Freshman Nicole Schappert placed 69th overall with a time of 21:03.  Senior Erin Franklin ran a time of 21:23, good for 97th place. 


 

 

 

Senior Hanna Bremler finished the race with a time of 21:37, placing 117th.  Freshman Mandy McBean placed 130th with a time of 21:47.  Senior Jill Miller placed 175th with a time of 22:15, and junior Michelle Sikes placed 182nd with a time of 22:24.
