Terre Haute, Ind. - The Wake Forest women's cross country team finished fifth out of 34 teams at the NCAA Pre-Nationals in Terre Haute on Saturday. The Deacons finished with 212 points in the 6000 meter race.

Senior Annie Bersagel finished second overall and ran a time of 20:16 to lead the Deacons. Bersagel finished just three seconds behind individual champion Christine Bolf of Colorado.

Freshman Mandy McBean ran a time of 20:16, good for 23rd overall. Senior Jill Miller finished with a time of 21:43, placing in 59th. Senior Erin Franklin finished in 63rd with a time of 21:44.

Senior Hanna Bremler rounded out the scoring for the Deacons with a 65th place finish and a time of 21:45. Junior Michelle Sikes finished with a time of 22:18, and freshman Nicole Schappert ran a time of 22:37 for the Deacons.

Michigan won the overall event with 86 points. Arizona State came in second with 96 points. Illinois placed third with 117 points. Colorado finished fourth with 170 points. The Deacons rounded out the top-five with 212 points.
