Sept. 27, 1998 VAN CORTLAND PARK, NY - Junior Janelle Kraus led the 14th-ranked Wake Forest women's cross country team to its third consecutive victory on Saturday at the Iona Meet of Champions in Van Cortland Park, N.Y. Kraus won the individual title for the third consecutive race, clearing the 5,000 meter course in a time of 17:35 and ahead of the other 189 runners in the race. An All-American last fall, Kraus now owns seven individual titles in her career. The Demon Deacons scored 30 points in the meet, finishing first among the 21 teams in the field. Wake Forest finished ahead of second place Dartmouth (42 points), the 3rd-ranked team in the country according to the most recent Cross Country Coaches Association Poll. Junior Emily Selvidio placed second with a time of 18:04, while junior Jill Snyder (6th, 18:17) and sophomore Kelly Brady (7th, 18:22) posted Top 10 finishes as well. Senior Amy Wallace (14th, 18:34) and senior Becky Pollock (20th, 18:41) rounded out Wake Forest's top finishers.
