WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Three players and head coach Mary Buczek have earned All-ACC volleyball honors in 1999. Sophomore Trina Maso de Moya was named to the first team All-ACC, while sophomore Margaret Davidson and senior Sara Kryder each earned a spot on the second team. Head coach Mary Buczek was named the 1999 Coach of the Year in the conference, after guiding the Deacons to a 24-8 overall record and 10-6 conference mark this season.

Buczek has established a career record of 63-67 since arriving at Wake Forest in 1996. After suffering two losing seasons in '96 and '97, Buczek has guided the Deacons to a 45-20 combined mark this season and last. She has helped the 1999 Wake Forest squad to its most successful season since 1975 with a 24-8 overall record and .750 winning percentage.

Maso de Moya, a sophomore outside hitter, took All-ACC honors this season after leading the Deacs in both kills and digs. She averages 4.12 kills and 4.35 digs per game. She has been named ACC's player of the week twice in 1999 and, as a freshman a year ago, was named to the conference's All-Freshman team. With 453 kills this season, she has set the school's individual single season record in that category. Only a sophomore, Maso de Moya also ranks third among Wake Forest career record-holders with 882 career kills.

Senior defensive specialist Sara Kryder was named to the second team All-ACC squad for the first time in her career. She has played in 95 matches and 267 games in her career. She ranks fourth on the team with 185 digs, averaging 1.87 per game. Kryder has tallied 18 service aces in 1999, and set a career-high against Clemson in 1998 with 17 digs in the match.

Margaret Davidson, a sophomore middle blocker, was also named to the All-ACC second team. She lists third on the team with 297 kills this season. She is Wake's top hitter, with a team-best .318 hitting percentage. Davidson's 105 blocks are also a team-best and she holds the Deacon record for total blocks per game with an average of 1.29.
