Wake Forest Volleyball Drops Match to Duke

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Duke used a balanced attack which produced a team hitting percentage of .411 in defeating Wake Forest in ACC volleyball action Tuesday night at Reynolds Gym.

The Blue Devils improved to 11-12 overall and 7-4 by beating the Deacs in three games by scores of 15-2, 15-4, 15-12. Wake Forest falls to 8-17 overall and 1-10 in the ACC.

Duke was led by sophomore outside hitter Sarah Peifer who finished the night with 15 kills and only three errors for an attack percentage of .375. The Tampa, Fla. native also owned the team high in digs with 12. Senior Kristen Campbell paced the Blue Devils with 35 assists while also contributing nine kills.

Sophomore Katie Horne was the only Wake Forest player to reach double-figure kills totals with 11. Junior Christy Kelley had a solid performance as she finished with a match high 13 digs and recorded six kills with no errors.

Wake Forest will have a week off before traveling to UNC Greensboro on November 4.
