Blue Devils Defeat Wake in Three

DURHAM, N.C.--The Demon Deacons dropped to 8-13, 1-6 in conference play after a 15-12, 15-2, 15-4 defeat to the Duke Blue Devils. Duke improved their record to 8-11, 4-3 in the ACC.

The Blue Devils hit a season-high .419 as a team led by Megan Irvine s 13 kills. Sarah Peifer had a great all-around game as she recorded 12 kills, with only one error, and 10 digs.

Jami Ediger and Jenny Stadler had seven and six kills, respectively, while Ediger also had five digs. Maureen Reindl had five kills and five digs while Dominique Philipp had five kills and four digs. Kristen Campbell had 33 assists for the Blue Devils.

Wake was led by Katie Horne s 12 kills. Sharon Harmsworth contributed 11.

Wake returns to action at Florida State October 19. They host Maryland and Virginia October 24 and 25.
