Queens, N.Y. - Senior Kim Stern closed out her collegiate career by dishing out 15 kills and 15 digs for her sixth season double-double, leading the Wake Forest volleyball team to a 4-1 (30-24, 30-23, 32-34, 30-15) victory over St. John's in the consolation round of the St. John's Classic, Saturday in Queens, N.Y. Junior Erin Borhart was just one dig away from a triple-double after putting up nine digs, 14 kills and a match-high 52 assists. Sophomore Natasha Schaefer led the Deacon defense with 18 digs. Christy Williams, Jackie Lucas and Stern all put down three block assists, helping the Deacs out-block their opponents 10 to 3. The Deacs took the first two games from the Red Storm, 30-24, 30-23, respectively. In the third game, St. John's made a comeback and pushed the game into four but not without a fight from Wake Forest. Taking the game into extra points, the Deacons fell, 32-34. Wake was able to come back in the fourth and close the game and the match quickly, 30-15. Wake Forest closes the season with a 13-17 mark overall and a 4-12 record in the ACC.
