Jennifer Adeva is in her third season as an assistant coach for the Wake Forest volleyball program. On the court, Adeva works primarily with the outside and right side hitters and coordinates the defensive systems. She also assists in recruiting and serves as an assistant camp director. A native of Canyon Country, Calif., Adeva spent the 2006 season coaching at her alma mater Cal State Fullerton. She helped the Titans to a 17-12 overall record and a 6-8 mark in the Big West Conference last season. After spending a year in her native Southern California, Adeva returned to the East Coast where she coached for six seasons. She spent one season at Nicholls State (2000-01), three seasons at Tennessee State (2001-04) and two seasons at Charlotte (2004-05). Adeva began her collegiate coaching career at Santa Ana College in 1998 as the assistant coach of the Dons, before being named head coach a year later. After a season of guiding the Santa Ana squad, Adeva headed southeast to Nicholls State where she was an assistant coach of the Colonels for the 2000 season. During both the 1999 and 2000 season, Adeva earned a California Beach Volleyball Association AAA Rating. She then spent three seasons as an assistant coach at Tennessee State from 2001-04, finishing up as the interim head coach in 2004. Adeva joined Lisa Marston's staff at Charlotte in 2004 and coached the 49ers for two seasons before heading back to Fullerton in 2006. Adeva had an up-and-down playing career. She suffered two ACL injuries and was granted a sixth-year of eligibility by the NCAA. Her career started at the College of the Canyons (1991-93), where she was a two-time First Team All-Western Conference performer. Adeva then transferred to Cal State Fullerton (1994-96) where she earned Academic All-Big West Conference honors and was named team captain in 1996. Also in 1996, Adeva was an NSCA All-American recipient. Prior to her collegiate career, Adeva prepped at Canyon High School in Canyon Country, Calif., earning All-Golden League and All-Santa Clarita Valley honors for the Cowboys. Adeva has extensive experience coaching at the club level, including the Carolina Juniors "Slam" team, an 18-year-old national-level squad out of Charlotte. Adeva's team captured the 18-Gold Div. Championship in the 2006 USA Volleyball Junior Olympics. Her 17-and-under team also posted eight first-place finishes in 2004-05, including championships at the Asics Nationals in Chicago, the East Coast Championships at Penn State and the Asics Big South Qualifier in Atlanta. She has also coached the Pacific Volleyball Club in Woodland Hills, Calif. (1993-94), the Impact Volleyball Club in Orange, Calif. (1995-98) and the Santa Monica Beach Club in Santa Monica, Calif. (1998-99). A 1997 graduate of Cal State Fullerton, Adeva earned her bachelor's degree in kinesiology before going on to obtain a master's in education from Azusa Pacific in 1999. |
