CLEMSON, S.C. - The Wake Forest track and field team will begin the 2007-08 indoor season this weekend at the Clemson Opener in South Carolina.

40 schools are scheduled to participate in the meet, which is set to begin at 5 p.m. on Friday afternoon and wrap up on Saturday evening. Caroline Vaughn, Michelle Duffy and Alex Grove will be the first Demon Deacons to compete, running the third heat of the women's 60m hurdles at 6 p.m. on Friday. Allen Luckenheimer will represent the WFU men in the 60m dash preliminaries, set for 6:20 p.m.

Nichole Castronuova and Melissa Council will finish Friday night action for Wake Forest at 6:50 p.m. with the 60m dash preliminaries.

In the 2006-07 indoor opener, senior sprinter Michael Bingham set a new school record in the 300m with a mark of 33.43. The time was also a facility record for hosting school Virginia Tech.
