ATLANTA, Ga. - The Wake Forest Track and Field team is headed to the Atlantic Coast Conference Outdoor Championships, set to kickoff at 9 a.m. on Thursday at Georgia Tech's George C. Griffin Track.

The men's and women's hammer throw will open up the championships, followed by the decathlon/heptathlon events, pole vault, javelin and the 10,000m run will wrap up the day's events.

Sprints and mid distance trials will be held on Friday, along with shot put, long jump and high jump trials and finals. The tournament will wind down on Saturday with the triple jump and discus as well as the spring/distance finals.

The Demon Deacons will look to better their tenth place finish at the 2008 Indoor Championships, held at the end of February.

"We have a few of our younger athletes that need to step up this weekend, but we feel like they know what to do now they've been through a full indoor season," Wake Forest head coach Annie Bennett said.
