WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Five Wake Forest women's track athletes have qualified individually for the 2000 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships to be held in Fayetteville, AR March 10-11. Senior Jill Snyder made her qualifying mark in the Mile Run at the Nittany Lion Qualifier at Penn State University with a first-place time of 4:41.44. The time is the second fastest in the nation by a collegiate athlete this year. Snyder will also enter the NCAA Championships as a two-time ACC Champion in that event. Senior Janelle Kraus will also compete in the NCAA's as an individual. Kraus, a two-time ACC Indoor Champion in the 5,000 meters, is 13th in the nation with a time of 16:36.63. She holds Wake Forest's indoor record in the event with a time of 16:06.43. The Deacons' distance medley relay squad will also make the trek to Fayetteville. The team, comprised of Snyder, Alison Anibaldi, Summer Shaw and Valerie Waldron, set a school indoor record of 11:24.26 at the Notre Dame Qualifier to make the NCAA field.
