WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Wake Forest's women's track and field team boasts two top-10 rankings in the February, 2000 issue of the Track and Field News. The Deacons' 4 x 1500m squad is ranked 3rd amongst United States teams based on Wake's finish in the 1999 Penn Relays in the relay. Seniors Jill Snyder, Alison Anibaldi and Janelle Kraus, and junior Kelly Brady were members of that team that earned a 17:39.72 time a season ago. Wake's Distance Medley team is also ranked 8th in the United States. Snyder, at 1200m, was the opening runner, Brooke Chapman ran the 400m second leg, Anibaldi took the 800m third leg, and Kraus anchored the team at 1600m. That team finished 7th at the Penn Relays in 1999 with a time of 11:13.20. The rankings, which include all United States runners as well as
global competitors, are released annually.
