Final Stats

ATLANTA, Ga. - Rain canceled several events at the Yellow Jacket Invitational over the weekend, but not before sophomore Jon Reid was able to take the 400m title with a 47.22 finish.

Reid's speedy finish, still shy of his 46.95 personal best, was the top time over competitors from Georgia, Kentucky, Michigan, Clemson and Georgia Tech.

Sophomore Nicolas Lepley placed sixth overall in the 800m dash with a time of 1:55.41. Patrick Russell also earned a top ten finish, taking 10th place in the 1500m event with a personal record 3:44.93 finish.

Merry Placer led the pack of six Demon Deacon runners in the women's 1500m, placing fifth with a 4:40.45 time, her fastest career mark in the event. Whitney Curry and Marley Burns finished sixth and seventh, respectively, with times of 4:42.48 and 4:44.11.

Alex Gove and Michelle Loyd represented Wake Forest in the 100m hurdles. Loyd placed 13th in the event with a 14.95 sprint, while Gove placed 15th with a 15.02 finish.

Next week, qualifying members of the Wake Forest roster will compete at the Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif. Other Demon Deacons are headed to Clemson, S.C. for the Clemson Invitational.
