Lexington, KY-- The Wake Forest track and field teams continued competition Saturday at the Kentucky Invitational in Lexington. In their second meet of the season, the Demon Deacons got strong performances from a number of athletes.

Senior Nikeya Green continued her marvelous career at Wake Forest, winning the women's 800m run with a time of 2:10.96. Lindsay Neuberger also set a school-record in the weight throw competition for the second week in a row. (52-02.75)

Hanna Bremler recorded a sixth-place finish in the mile run with a time of 5:04.80. In the men's mile event, five Deacons placed in the top 20, led by Kevin Jones and Chris Catton in fifth and sixth place, respectively.

In the women's 3,000m event, Lisa Gibbs, Denise Hefferin and Kara Hill each placed in the top ten while Molly Nunn and Catherine Fortin-Major also finished in the top 15.

In the 200m men's event, Wake's Mike Loyd and Willie Idlette placed in the top 15 overall. Adam Gabrault took home a 12th place finish in the weight throw competition while Josh Carter finished 15th in the shot put.

The Demon Deacons return to action next weekend when they travel to Clemson, SC for the Clemson Invitational.
