The most decorated athlete in Wake Forest women's cross country/track & field history is sticking around Winston-Salem again to assist the Demon Deacon coaching staff as a volunteer assistant coach. Janelle Kraus finished her career as a Demon Deacon in 2000 as a four-time All-American, eight-time all-ACC selection and a three-time Marge Crisp Female Athlete of the Year honoree.

Kraus, who earned her undergraduate degree in history from Wake Forest in 2000, is a two-time Dean's List member at WFU, as well as a member of the ACC Honor Roll.

In her senior season, Kraus won the 5,000-meter at the ACC Indoor Championships and the ACC Outdoor Championships, as well as the 3,000-meter at the ACC Outdoors. She then qualified for the NCAA Championships in the outdoor 5,000 meter run and then missed making the olympic trials by a few seconds.

Kraus, who still trains and competes unattached, owns both the indoor and outdoor 5,000 meter records at Wake.
