WINSTON-SALEM, NC --- Wake Forest's Mariel Verban is the 1998 ITA Southeast Regional Indoor Champion, while the Doubles Championships belongs to Duke's team of Megan Miller and Kathy Sell. The victories automatically qualify the trio for the National Championships to be held Feb. 4-7 in Dallas, Texas. Verban, the tournament's number two seed, defeated Duke's Karen Goldstein in three games: 6-0, 3-6, 6-2.

Miller and Sell, the number three seed, downed Kentucky's number four seeded duo of Christy Sigurski and Brooke Skeen in straight sets, 6-3 and 6-3. Despite the losses by Goldstein and Kentucky, each have advanced to the National Championship tournament in Dallas, Texas.
