WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The #31 Wake Forest women's tennis team will look to extend its four match winning streak as the Demon Deacons host the #9 North Carolina Tar Heels, Thursday at 4 p.m. in Leighton Tennis Stadium.

Entering the match, the Demon Deacons carry a 9-6 overall record that includes four straight victories, including a 7-0 sweep of then-ranked #6 William and Mary. Most recently defeating #32 Florida State, 4-3, the Deacs are led by the doubles tandem of Alex Hirsch and Karin Coetzee. Currently ranked #15 by the ITA, the red-shirt freshman-senior pair have compiled a 6-1 overall record while playing exclusively in the number one position.

The Tar Heels enter the match on a two game losing streak, including a 6-1 loss to #15 Florida, which drops North Carolina to 12-6 overall. Carrying a 1-1 ACC record, the Heels are led by #20 Kendell Cline, who has compiled a 13-4 singles record so far this spring. In doubles action, Cline is paired up with Aniela Mojzis and together they are ranked at #5, also entering the match with a 13-4 record.

After the match today, the Deacs will host Miami at noon on Sunday, April 2.
