GREENSBORO, N.C. - Sasha Kulikova of Wake Forest has been selected Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week after going 2-0 in both singles and doubles action against No. 16 Tennessee and Penn State over the weekend.

In Sunday's 4-3 upset victory over the ranked Tennessee Lady Vols, Kulikova joined teammate Alex Hirsch at the No. 1 flight for the lone win in doubles play with an 8-6 triumph over the nation's No. 2 tandem in Caitlin Whoriskey and Zsofia Zubor. The sophomore later gave the 22nd-ranked Demon Deacons a 3-2 lead in the match, as she secured a 6-2, 2-6, 6-1 win over Ghizela Schutte at No. 2 singles.

Last Saturday versus Penn State, Kulikova paired up with Hirsch at the top spot for a solid 8-4 win to clinch the doubles point for the Deacs. The native from Moscow, Russia, also collected a singles win at No. 2 (6-0, 7-6) as Wake Forest went on to blank the Nittany Lions 7-0.

The Deacs will break for two weeks before returning to action, as they host Notre Dame on Friday, Feb. 22 and Indiana on Saturday, Feb. 23.
