Women's Tennis Upset by Notre Dame

No.10 Deacons fall to No.17 Irish.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The 10th-ranked Wake Forest women's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision to 17th-ranked Notre Dame Thursday afternoon at the Indoor Tennis Center. The loss drops the Deacons' season record to 11-7.

In singles action, Annemarie Milton accounted for Wake Forest's only point with a 7-5, 7-5 win at No. 5 over Kelly Zalinski. At No. 1, Nicola Kaiwai lost to Jennifer Hall (#22), 6-2, 6-1. Mariel Verban lost a tough, three-set match at No. 2 to Michelle Dasso (#19).

The Demon Deacons dropped all three doubles matches.

Wake Forest next plays host to North Carolina on April 17.
