Women's Tennis Drops Clemson

No.10 Deacons improve to 10-5.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The 10th-ranked Wake Forest women's tennis team beat Clemson 7-2 Sunday afternoon at Leighton Stadium. The win pushes the team's record to 10-5.

Wake Forest dominated singles action. Nicola Kaiwai defeated Stafanie Woerz in three sets at No. 1. Freshman Mariel Verban (#57) won at No. 2 over Etresia Kruger, 6-4, 6-2. Lule Aydin won easily at No. 3, 6-1, 6-1. At Nos. 5 and 6, Annemarie Milton and Terri Hieti also cruised to straight-set wins.

The Demon Deacons took two of three doubles matches. Aydin and Verban won at No. 1, 8-1 and Milton and Kaiwai were victorious at No. 2, 8-2.

Wake Forest next plays host to Georgia Tech on April 4, at 11 a.m.
