SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The No. 30 Wake Forest women's tennis team defeated San Diego State 5-2 in San Diego on Thursday afternoon. The Demon Deacons (6-5) posted their second doubles sweep of the season to pull ahead 1-0 entering the singles portion of the match. In her first singles outing of the season, WFU sophomore Aileen Davis swept both games against Ozge Atalay at No. 6 to give the Deacons a 2-0 advantage. Sophomore Sasha Kulikova earned her tenth singles win of the season with a 6-1, 6-3 decision over Eliska Krausova at No. 2. The victory put Wake Forest up 3-0 before the Aztecs posted their first singles win, when Holly Bagshaw defeated Alex Hirsch 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1. Freshman Katarina Reveche clinched the Demon Deacon win with a 6-2, 6-3 victory at No. 5. Christian Tara added the final WFU win, taking a 6-4, 6-4 victory at No. 3. Wake Forest will continue action on the road when they take on Maryland in College Park on March 22. Wake Forest 5, San Diego State 2
