WINSTON-SALEM, NC - Wake Forest junior Nicola Kaiwai defeated Callie Creighton at No. 1 singles, 7-6, 6-4, to lead the 13th-ranked Demon Deacons to a 5-4 victory over No. 16 Vanderbilt on Friday afternoon at the Indoor Tennis Center.
Lule Aydin, and Annemarie Milton both won singles matches for Wake Forest. Julie Ditty, Kristen Radford and Staci Ryan all won their singles flights for the Commodores. The Demon Deacons captured two of three doubles flights to claim the victory.
Wake Forest will return to action on Saturday morning when the Demon Deacons host Richmond at 11 a.m.
