Jon Stokke joins the Demon Deacon staff after working at the Smith Stearns Tennis Academy in Hilton Head, S.C. for two years. As a full-time instructor, Stokke coached nationally and regionally ranked junior tennis players in daily training sessions in addition to providing on site coaching at tournaments.
Stokke was a two-time All-ACC student-athlete at Duke, where he served as team captain during the 2006 season and still holds a spot on the all-time career singles wins category. He earned All-American status for doubles during his senior season and became the first Blue Devil to be honored with the Arthur Ashe Award for Sportsmanship and Leadership. Prior to his arrival at Duke, Stokke competed in the doubles main draw at the 2001 and 2002 U.S. Open. |
