FRESHMAN SEASON
Compiled a strong record as a sophomore playing at the number 5 and 6 singles spots....finished the year at 14-7 with a 2-2 mark in the ACC...had an impressive fall season with an 11-4 record...played all but 4 doubles matches with partner Blakely Offutt and finished with a strong overall record of 7-5...finished 5th out of a strong field at the Virginia Tech Invitational by cruising past Ann Marie Simanca of Winthrop 6-1, 6-2...completed an excellent season and will be expected to be a strong asset for her team in the upcoming year.
FRESHMAN SEASON
Joined the team second semester ... won seven singles matches playing mostly at No. 5 and No. 6 positions ... played all but two doubles matches with partner Elizabeth Proctor, competing at the No. 3 slot ... went 3-3 in ACC doubles play with Proctor ... led team with wins at singles and doubles in 4-1 win over No. 73 Maryland Apr. 17 in the first round of the ACC Championship.

Undefeated in singles for six years at Newcastle High ... team captain all six years ... captain of regional team in 1999 and 2000 ... played on the state team two years and won the 2001 National Championship ... captain of the NSW All School's Tennis Team that went undefeated in 2001 ... semifinalist at 2001 Australian National Singles Championship ... honor roll student every semester ... earned the NSW Combined High Schools State Blue for Tennis (the highest school sporting award in Australia).

Full name is Alexandra Louise Knight ... daughter of Margaret and Steve Knight ... born October 14, 1983 in Newcastle, Australia ... picked Wake Forest over Georgia Tech, Washington State, Alabama, Arkansas, UNC Greensboro and East Tennessee State ... chose Wake Forest because of the academic opportunities and the tennis team's ranking ... uncle, Peter Doohan, the current World 40's Doubles Champion, played tennis at Arkansas from 1979-82 and won NCAA Championships in singles and doubles, before going on to reach top 50 singles and top 10 doubles on the ATP Tour, defeateing Brois Becker at Wimbledon in 1987, as well as winning matches against Andre Agassi and Goran Ivanisevic.
