Dec. 1, 1999

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest forward Emily Taggart has been named to the 1999 NSCAA Southeast Region Third Team. The sophomore from Pleasanton, CA was a part of a Demon Deacon squad that advanced to the third round of the NCAA Tournament for the first time in team history.

Taggart tallied 19 points this season, scoring six goals and adding seven assists. She played in 19 of Wake Forest's 23 games, starting 17. Three times, Taggart scored the game-winning goal, including the Deacons' 1-0 win over Michigan in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. In her career, she has registered 12 goals and nine assists, and started 36 of the 40 games she's played.

Following a tie at Clemson, a game in which the Tigers advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals, the Demon Deacons finished their season 16-6-1 overall.
