WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest senior midfielders Amy Smerdzinski and Camelyn Dillon were named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District III Second Team on Thursday morning, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

A native of Chantilly, Va., Smerdzinski is a communication major with a minor in entrepreneurship and social enterprise. She currently has a 3.53 grade point average and has been named to the Dean's List six times. Smerdzinski has also twice been named to the Academic All-ACC team and is a three-time member of the ACC Honor Roll.

Smerdzinski has played a key role in the success of the Wake Forest women's soccer team. She has started every game this season and in her career has played in 81 games, making 71 starts. She has scored 13 goals and seven assists in her career as a Deacon. In 2007, she was named second team All-ACC and also to Top Drawer Soccer's College Team of the Season. This past summer, Smerdzinski advanced to the final phase of the U.S. U-23 training camp.

Dillon has posted a 3.85 grade point average while double majoring in health and exercise science and Spanish. Dillon has been named to the Dean's List six times in her academic career and is a three-time member of the ACC Honor Roll.

A Greensboro, N.C., native, Dillon has played in 62 games, while making 53 starts. Dillon has been a key member of the Wake Forest midfield, helping to contribute to 33 shutouts in her career.

To be eligible for nomination, student-athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of their team's games, be of sophomore standing athletically and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.3.
