Wake Forest-Miami Game Notes Get Acrobat Reader

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - No. 19 Wake Forest begins a season-ending three-game road trip on Sunday as the Deacons face Miami in a crucial ACC contest. Opening kickoff is set for 1 p.m. (ET) and the game will be shown live on ACC Select.

Wake Forest and Miami currently sit in seventh and eighth place in the ACC, respectively. The Deacons have nine points in conference play, while Miami has secured five points in ACC play. The top eight teams will advance to the conference tournament in Cary, N.C.

The Deacons have a record of 10-5 and 3-4 in ACC play after a 2-1 win over NC State on Thursday night. Bess Harrington and Jill Hutchinson scored goals in the first 10 minutes of the second half to lead Wake Forest to the victory. NC State did tally a late goal but was unable to score the equalizer.

Hutchinson leads Wake Forest with eight goals, six assists and 22 points. Allie Sadow ranks second on the team with six goals and 14 points.

Miami enters Sunday's match with an 8-6-3 overall record and a 1-4-2 mark in ACC play. The Hurricanes are coming off a 0-0 tie at home against No. 9 Duke on Thursday night.

Brittney Steinbruch leads the Hurricanes in goals (8) and points (16). Lauren Singer has a team-best four assists on the year.

Vikki Alonzo has played every minute in goal this season for Miami. She has allowed 15 goals on the season, recording a goals against average of 0.84. Alonzo has nine shutouts on the season.

Wake Forest and Miami are meeting for the fifth time in series history. The Deacons have won the previous four games in the series.
