Wake Forest-Clemson Game Notes
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The 15th-ranked Wake Forest women's soccer team will look to snap a three-game losing streak on Sunday as it hosts Clemson at 1 p.m. (ET). The Deacons will honor their six seniors in a ceremony before the game. The 2008 senior class has been one of the most successful classes in program history. The seniors led the Deacons to a 6-2-2 ACC record in 2007, the best conference record in school history. The 2008 senior class consists of Whitney Berry, Christy Carter, Camelyn Dillon, Kristina Hanley, Amanda Lebo and Amy Smerdzinski. Wake Forest will be looking for its second conference win of the season on Sunday. The Deacons are currently in a tie for eighth in the ACC with a 1-3-0 record. The Deacs are currently coming off a 3-1 loss at Duke on Thursday night. Kaley Fountain scored the only goal of the game for Wake Forest late in the second half. Clemson currently sits in seventh place in the ACC with four points after picking up its first conference win of the year on Thursday night, a 3-0 victory against NC State. Julie Bolt leads the Tigers with nine goals on the season and is ranked fifth in the ACC in goals scored. Molly Franklin has a team-best four assists on the year. Paula Pritzen has played the majority of the minutes in goal for the Tigers, playing 945 minutes on the season. Pritzen has a goals against average of 2.19 and has made 42 saves on the season. Clemson has controlled the all-time series against Wake Forest, currently owning a 12-3-3 advantage in the series.
