- WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - After opening Atlantic Coast Conference play with a 2-0 shut out of Maryland on Thursday night, the No. 12 Wake Forest (8-1-0, 1-0-0 ACC) women's soccer team looks to close the first weekend of conference play with a victory over No. 14 Boston College on Sunday afternoon at Spry Stadium. First touch is slated for 1:00 p.m. (ET) and the game will be broadcast live on the web by ACC Select.

Wake Forest registered its seventh shut out in nine games on the season in the 2-0 victory over Maryland to open conference play. Junior goalkeeper Laura Morse extended her scoreless streak to just over 443 minutes to start the season, making one save. Morse has four clean sheets on the season.

A pair of juniors each tallied a goal in the game. Sarah Winslow scored the game-winner in the 32nd minute, while Allie Sadow added an insurance goal in the 88th minute.

No. 14 Boston College (6-1-2, 0-0-1 ACC) also opened conference play on Thursday night, tying No. 10 Duke 0-0. Goalkeeper Jillian Mastroianni made eight saves in the game for the Eagles.

Brooke Knowlton leads the Eagles with five goals and 11 points on the season. Kelly Henderson leads the team with four assists.

"Boston College is a strong, physical team," head coach Tony da Luz said. "They have a lot of athleticism on their team. We'll have to battle in order to finish the weekend 2-0."

A victory for Wake Forest would improve the team to 2-0-0 in league play for the first time since 2001. The Deacons opened conference play that season with victories over Maryland and NC State.

Wake Forest owns a 2-1-0 advantage all-time against Boston College. The Deacons won the only other meeting at Spry Stadium in 2006, defeating the Eagles 2-0.
