ACC Exhibition Tournament Kicks off Saturday

April 11, 2008

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest women's soccer team is set for action at the ACC Spring Exhibition tournament on Saturday at Twin City Soccer's BB&T Field.

The Demon Deacons will open at 11 a.m. with NC State, followed by Clemson at 11:55. At 3:30 Wake Forest will play competition from the second bracket, which includes North Carolina, Duke and Virginia Tech. For directions and other information please visit www.twincitysoccer.com.

Last weekend, Wake Forest hosted three exhibition matches, posting 1-0 wins over Eastern Carolina, Western Carolina and Lenior Rhyne. Sarah Winslow led the squad with two goals, while Amy Smerdzinski added the game winning goal over Lenoir Rhyne.

On Tuesday, the Deacs suffered a rare home loss, falling 1-0 to Davidson. Despite controlling the possession for most of the game, a Wildcat goal with 20 minutes remaining sealed the WFU fate.
