GREENSBORO, N.C. - Wake Forest soccer players Kaley Fountain, Kristina Hanley, Elizabeth Remy, Allie Sadow and Amy Smerdzinski were among the 42 student-athletes named to the 2006 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Women's Soccer Team, announced Thursday by ACC Commissioner John Swofford. Remy was a repeat selections to the squad.

To be eligible for consideration, a player must have earned a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.0 cumulative average during his academic career.

Fountain, a freshman from Austin, Texas, scored two goals and notched two assists in 2006. Hanley, a junior psychology major from Hickory, N.C., scored the game-winning goal against Maryland. Remy, a senior psychology major from Norman, Okla., was the team's leading scorer. Sadow, a freshman forward from Charlotte, N.C., was the team's second-leading scorer. Smerdzinski, a sophomore midfielder from Chantilly, Va., scored four goals this season, three of which were game-winning tallies.
