No. 12 Wake Forest Blanks Auburn in Women's Soccer, 2-0

AUBURN, Ala. - Junior Meghan Suddes and sophomore Alison McPheely each scored a goal to lead 12th-ranked Wake Forest to a 2-0 women's soccer over Auburn on Friday afternoon.

Suddes got Wake Forest (8-2) on the scoreboard late in the first half when she found the back of the net off a pass from teammate Rachael Lewis at 40:55.

The score reamained 1-0 for a majority of the game until McPheely added an insurance goal in the 87th minute. It was her first goal of the season and she was assisted by Stefanie Mathews.

Sophomore goalkeeper Beth Klein made seven saves to earn her fourth solo shutout of the year. The Demon Deacons outshot Auburn (7-3-1) 11-8 and took six corner kicks to three for the Tigers.

Wake Forest returns to action on Sunday when they travel to Georgia for a 2 p.m. game.
