Florida State scored with 13:10 left in the first half. Becky Edwards crossed the ball from the right side of the field and found Toni Pressley in the center of the box about eight yards out. Pressley's header snuck inside the left post to give the Seminoles a 1-0 advantage.

Wake Forest was able to increase the pressure on the Florida State defense late in the first half. The Deacons had two corner kicks inside the last 10 minutes, including one that led to a shot from Eleanor Davidson that sailed just high of the net.

The Seminoles doubled their lead in the 57th minute in the second half. A free kick from Sarah Wagenfuhr found the head of Sanna Talonen. Her header went off the fingertips of Morse and rolled into the net to give Florida State a two-goal edge.

Florida State got its third goal in the 75th minute. Barasha came outside of the six-yard box to try to make the save, but was unable to get control of the ball. Florida State's Edwards took advantage, flicking the ball into the goal from inside the six-yard box to give the Seminoles a 3-0 lead. Talonen was credited with the assist on the play.

Marissa Kazbour scored two late goals to extend the lead to 5-0, which would be the final score of the game.
