CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The No. 18 Wake Forest women's soccer team fell 2-1 to No. 9 Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Mass. on Sunday afternoon.

Senior Maggie Horne had the first goal for the Deacons (7-4-2, 2-1-1) in the 16th minute, with assists from Amanda Lebo and Kaley Fountain. The goal was Horne's first for the season.

Boston College's (8-0-3, 1-0-2) Amy Caldwell tied the contest just before halftime, scoring in the 41st minute.

Wake held the Eagles to one shot during the second half, but it was all BC needed to inch ahead with a goal in the 81st minute.

The Deacs will be back in action this Sunday at 1 p.m. to take on the No. 12 UNC Tarheels in Chapel Hill.
