Sept. 26, 1999 RALEIGH, N.C. -- Wake Forest scored a pair of goals just 124 seconds apart early in the second half Sunday afternoon, breaking a scoreless tie and sending the Deacons to a 3-1 women's soccer victory over NC State at Method Road Soccer Stadium. The win improved the Deacons to 7-1 overall and 3-0 in the Atlantic Coast Conference. NC State fell to 3-4-1 overall and 0-2-1 in the ACC. Wake broke the 0-0 tie on a goal by Katie Johnson, who headed in Lindsey Griffin's corner kick at the 54:02 mark. Wake made it 2-0 when Karli Schilling and Joline Charlton fed Anne Shropshire for a 15-yard shot off the right post at 56:06. The backbreaking third goal of the half came at the 67:22 mark on an unassisted goal by Emily Taggart, who scored on a breakaway down the right side. The Wolfpack got on the scoreboard at the 79:22 mark when Shannon Blair took the ball down the right side before breaking along the baseline and feeding a crossing pass to Laura Scott, who drilled in the easy shot from the left post.
