Sept. 9, 1998 DAVIDSON, N.C. -- Senior Meghan Suddes scored two goals and the Wake Forest defense limited Davidson to just two shots as the Demon Deacons claimed a 4-0 victory over the Wildcats on Wednesday night. The victory improved Wake Forest's record to 2-0-1 on the season while Davidson fell to 0-3. Wake Forest junior Anne Shropshire had two assists on the evening, raising her career total to 16 and making her the career leader in assists in the five-year history of the program. The Demon Deacons got on the scoreboard in the first half with an unassisted goal from freshman Rachel Parri at the 29:58 mark, her first of the season. Suddes broke the game open for Wake Forest, scoring at both 64:57 and 73:28. Freshman Stacy Roeck added the final goal of the evening at the 83:59 mark, her second of the season. Senior goalkeeper Sari Rose made two saves to record her second shutout of the season. Wake Forest outshot Davidson 22-2 on the night. The Demon Deacons return to action this weekend when they travel to Portland, Ore., for a two-day tournament where they will face Oregon and No. 6 Portland.
