Laura Crawford won the Women's Eastern Amateur Championship by five strokes Thursday, giving Wake Forest golfers back-to-back titles at the event.

Natalie Sheary won the tournament one year ago.

Crawford posted a 73-70-72=215 at the DuPont Country Club in Wilmington, Del.

Crawford graduated from Wake Forest in May and finished her career with three top 10 finishes and six finishes in the top 20.

The Lancaster, S.C. native carried a career 77.2 stroke average per 18 holes for the Deacs and has been selected to World University Games' women's golf team for 2008.

Crawford, who was selected by the National Golf Coaches Association to represent the United State, will travel to Sun City, South Africa to participate in the World University Games, Sept. 1-6.

The field at the Women's Eastern Amateur included Wake's Jordan Craig, who also graduated in May. Craig posted a 234 for the three round event and finished tied for 16th place.

Rising senior Laura Ormson carded a 249 on the DuPont Course. She was the third Demon Deacon participant.
