Second Round Results in PDF Format Get Acrobat Reader

The No. 10 Wake Forest women's golf team shot a 300 (+12) for the second straight day and fell one spot into a third-place tie in the second round of the LSU/Cleveland Golf Classic in Baton Rouge.

Florida State maintained its lead after shooting 294 Saturday and holds a 12-stroke advantage over second-place Alabama. Wake is thirteen strokes back along with LSU, which shot its second straight round of 300.

Senior Laura Crawford fell out of a first-place tie after shooting a six-over 78 and is currently tied for 10th. Crawford, with a two-day total of 148, is four over for the tournament.

Jean Chua shot a 73, her best round of the tournament, to jump to 14th place. The junior entered Saturday's round tied for 23rd.

Freshmen Natalie Sheary and Allie Bodemann rebounded from Friday's round as each cut a significant amount of strokes off their final scores. Bodemann bettered her first round score by 12 strokes after carding a 76 Saturday. Sheary is currently tied for 22nd after improving five strokes in the second round with a three-over 73.

Bodemann and Chua totaled three birdies apiece to lead the Deacs.

Junior Nannette Hill landed in a tie for 54th following an eight-over 80 in the second round.

Lauren Doughtie of NC State and Caroline Westrup of Florida State are knotted in first place with two-day totals of 141.

Wake is scheduled for an 8:30 tee-time for Sunday's final round. Clear, sunny weather and a high of 75 degrees has been projected for Baton Rouge.

The Deacs will be trying for their third top three finish in the past four events as well as their second team victory of the 2007-08 season.
