The threat of inclement weather forced the cancellation of the Diet Coke Wofford Invitational second round Tuesday at The Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg, S.C.

Although heavy rains are expected in the area during the afternoon, lightning strikes were detected within the 10-mile radius boundary set by the NCAA forcing play to be halted before it was scheduled to begin with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun.

Wake Forest sophomore Laura Ormson finished in 15th and sophomore Erin Boyle recorded a 23rd-place finish. Sophomore Jessica Boney landed in a tie for 43rd.

Elon, the first round leader after Monday's first 18 holes, was declared the team champion with its 19-over par 307.

Jacksonville's Danielle Gibb was rewarded medalist honors after her 38-38=73 (+1) on the par 72, 6,017-yard course.
