15th Ranked Women's Golf Second at Tournament

Wake Forest finds success at Betsy Rawls Longhorn Classic

AUSTIN, TX -- Sophomore Kelley Kirwin fired an opening round 75 at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Classic in Austin, TX on Friday to lead the 15th ranked Wake Forest womens golf team to second place with a team score of 307.

Kirwin is tied for seventh place, three strokes back of Furmans Jennifer Hanna and North Carolinas Megan Morgan who both finished with even par 72s. North Carolina leads the team competition by eight strokes after completing Friday with a score of 299.

Wake Forest freshman Marta Prieto and junior Kristen Wagner posted scores of 77 and are tied for 14th place. Deacon senior Alexandra Armas shot a 78 and is 21st while sophomore Stefanie Reynolds finished the day with an 84.

Tournament play will continue with the second round at the Great Hills Golf Club on Saturday.
