Kathy Choi-Rogers is in her second season as the assistant coach for the Demon Deacons, joining the women's golf program in May 2006.

Choi-Rogers, a native of Huntington Beach, Calif., had a successful college career at UCLA lettering all four years from 1992-96. She was the team captain and MVP her senior year. That same year, she finished third individually at the NCAA Women's Golf Championship and led the Bruins to a fourth-place finish. With her strong performance and consistent play, Choi-Rogers was selected as a second team All-American. She also earned first team All-PAC 10 honors.

After graduating from UCLA in 1997 with a degree in sociology, Choi-Rogers turned pro. She competed on the Players West Tour from 1997-99, winning three events.

Due to injuries, Choi-Rogers stepped away from competitive golf in 1999 and began teaching at Mulligan Golf Practice Center in Torrance, Calif. While she recovered from 1999-2002, Choi-Rogers developed her skills as an instructor, helping players of all levels including several top juniors in Southern California.

When she returned to competitive golf in 2003, Choi-Rogers qualified for the 58th U.S. Women's Open held at Pumpkin Ridge C.C. in Portland, Ore. She also earned full exempt status on the FUTURES Golf Tour. From 2003-05, Choi-Rogers recorded several top-10 finishes, her best finish being third at the 2003 York Newspaper Company FUTURES Classic. In 2004, Choi-Rogers finished 55th at the LPGA Qualifying school and earned non-exempt status for the LPGA Tour.

Kathy Choi-Rogers was born in Seoul, Korea. She got married in 2000 to Jared Rogers, and the couple currently resides in Winston-Salem.
