WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The third-ranked Wake Forest field hockey team hosts No. 12 Boston College in an Atlantic Coast Conference game and both team's regular season finale. The Demon Deacons holds an 11-4 overall record and is 2-2 in the ACC, while the Eagles are 12-6 overall and 1-3 in conference play. The game will be featured on ACC Select.

Senior Day at Kentner Stadium
Prior to the start of the match, Wake Forest will honor its senior class - Chelsea Cipriani and Lauren Love. The pair have compiled an impressive record of 74-11 and have participated in three NCAA final fours, won two ACC regular season titles and helped the Demon Deacons capture the ACC tournament title last year. As freshmen, Cipriani and Love were members of Wake Forest's third consecutive NCAA Championship team in 2004.

Going for Lucky No. Seven...
Wake Forest looks to close out the season with a 7-0 run after winning its last six games, including a 2-0 shutout victory over then-No. 5 Michigan State to kick of the win streak.

Win No. 250 for Averill
Head Coach Jennifer Averill captured her 250th career win on Oct. 20 with the Deacs' 3-0 win over No. 19 Virginia. Averil is in her 16th season with the Demon Deacons and her 18th season overall. Last season, Averill recorded her 200th Wake Forest win on Sept. 1 at Stanford.

3-0 in NorCal Road Swing
Wake Forest concluded its road schedule two weeks ago playing three games in four days in Northern California. Trailing 3-2 with less than seven minutes to go in regulation, Wake Forest scored back-to-back goals in the final two minutes of play to take down Cal, 4-3. Senior Chelsea Cipriani scored her second game-tying goal to knot the score at 3-3 and sophomore Regina Shannon knocked in the game winner in the final minute. The Deacs followed up with two games at Stanford where they defeated Pacific, 5-1, and blanked Stanford, 8-0.

 

 

Last Time Out...
Last weekend, Wake Forest evened its ACC record with a 3-0 win over Virginia at home. The Deacs moved to 2-2 in conference, while the Cavaliers remained winless in the ACC at 0-4. Chelsea Cipriani, Melissa Martin and Emily Cummings notched goals for the Deacs.

About Boston College
Boston College, a recent addition to the Atlantic Coast Conference, is coming off of a 2-1 loss to non-conference opponent Connecticut. Bob Dirks leads the Eagles with 11 goals and 11 assists for 33 points, while Chelsey Feole adds 10 goals and two assists for 22 points.

Series Vs. BC
Since joining the ACC, the Deacs are 2-0 over the Eagles. Overall, Wake Forest leads the series 4-1 with its only loss (3-2) coming in 1997 when the teams first met. The last two years, Wake Forest has concluded its regular season against the Eagles, outscoring BC 11-3 (5-2 in 2005 and 6-1 in 2006).
