WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.--The Wake Forest field hockey team dropped two places to 11th in this week's National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) poll.

The Deacons lost their ACC opener Saturday at third-ranked Maryland 4-0 and will host the second-ranked North Carolina Tar Heels Saturday, Oct. 2 in the ACC home opener for the Deacs. Gametime is set for 1 p.m.

All five ACC schools that compete in field hockey are in this week's poll. In addition to North Carolina (2nd), Maryland (3rd) and Wake Forest (11th) Virginia is ranked eighth and Duke was rated 12th.
